Chris is of German origin, but has a close connection to Africa, as he was born in Nigeria and grew up in Nairobi / Kenya. He serves Pamoja as our director and human resource manager. He studied and worked as a publishing house manager in Germany, before moving to Zanzibar in 2013. Building relationships and conflict management are his speciality. When he is not in company of his wife and kids, you will find him out on the water with his fishing rod.
His experience in Sub-Saharian accountancy led Ben to Pamoja Zanzibar. With his degree in "Intercultural Management and Communication" he is supporting the NGO in the financial and administrative department. Prior to his start with Pamoja he has been supporting two young german companies into their business growth. He's the get-things-done guy who loves having times off with different kinds of wood work.
Mtumwa is with Pamoja since the very beginning and a strong pillar for the team. Working as our receptionist, she knows our customers and our business thoroughly. She holds a diploma in Business Information Technology from Zanzibar University. Born, raised and living in Zanzibar, Mtumwa is deeply rooted here and a true family person.

Josephine is a real hands-on worker. With her educational background being a professional tailor from Tanga College, as well as being a Montessori teacher, she is a perfect fit for leading Pamoja’s Tailoring School. Besides, she is successfully running her own tailoring business since more than 18 years, and is chairman of the Ushindi women’s tailoring cooperative. She is married and has four children.
As a German development worker, Reha supports Pamoja‘s efforts in developing a certified curriculum for water-technicians in cooperation with KIST. He has degrees in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering. Prior to his arrival on Zanzibar he has worked as Project manager for infrastructure projects in the Middle East. He loves to spend time with his family and discover Zanzibars beautiful nature on a kayak.
Dave is a Swiss master mechanic and automotive diagnostician. Including his training and specialization, he brings eleven years of experience in Volvo workshops in Switzerland, at last two years as chief mechanic. Dave is an active sportsperson and loves to ride his motorbike through the island. He also loves to spend time with his wife and his three children.
Simon is our project coordinator on Pemba Island. He holds a Master of Education from a German university and has been living on Pemba together with his family since 2016. After teaching English at the Utaani Secondary School for five years he developed the special computer course for teachers. His heart is to teach computer skills that make the lives of the teachers easier and improve the education for the students. He loves his family, the island’s nature, the friendliness of the Wapemba and enjoys playing Basketball in a local team.

Saidi has been working with us on Pemba since 2012. His expertise in teaching computer applications is invaluable as well as the amount of people he knows all over Zanzibar. He is our main computer teacher in our Continuing Education Center in Konde and assistant teacher in our Computer Courses for Teachers. He loves to research tricky questions on the internet and implement them into our courses. Conditional Formating or interleaved functions in MS Excel? No problem! He is married and proud father of a sweet little daughter.
