Pamoja Zanzibar has been established on Pemba Island in 2013. It started with an education centre in Konde offering English and Computer courses. The computer courses are still running, and adults can learn how to effectively use a computer.

From 2017 – 2022 two of our expat teachers worked side by side with the local staff at Utaani Secondary School and at Chasasa Secondary School providing high quality English education.

In March 2022 the boarding house of the Utaani Secondary School caught fire and burned down. Praise God, that no student lost her life, but many students lost all their personal belongings.
Pamoja Zanzibar stepped in and provided new school uniforms for all of the 501 affected students.

In 2020 – 2023 two German specialist doctors (Dr. Hans as a specialist in Surgery and Dr. Masha as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology) worked at the Micheweni Cottage Hospital. In the surgical and gynecological clinic, the doctors provided care for the patients while at the same time training the younger colleagues. We are grateful for the fruitful cooperation with the ministry of Health and are open for future projects.
